Arduino Crossing

Built By:Josh Murrah

Description:

WORK IN PROGRESS - ELECTRONICS BUILT/TESTED, ASSEMBLY IMMINENT

This is a triple that has a light/sound/animated crossing, as well as speed detection.

The module is powered by an Arduino Nano, and has servo-actuated and lighted NJ International crossing heads/arms, as well a speaker and a set of eight IR occupancy detectors buried in the rail. The crossing detects on both rails and acts accordingly and in addition, drives a display showing the passing train's speed on each rail.

The triple module is scratch built from 5mm underlayment, and the track spacing is 25mm to match the conversion module pair featured on another module page.
