TV Factory
Builder: Philip C
Owner: Japan Rail Modellers of Washington DC (Club module)
Description:
This module is inspired by a structure that used to stand beside the Tohoku mainline in Utsunomiya, about an hour's train ride north of Tokyo. It had a large sign in English on the roof saying "Panasonic Television Factory", presumably for the benefit of tourists on passing trains. This is not an accurate replica.
As far as I've been able to determine, the real building was sold to another company and may have been demolished.
The Hokutosei Express passes the factory in the morning, near the end of its journey from Sapporo.
